PrepMate mentors are current university students who guide high school applicants through the exact admissions process they just navigated. You’re not a tutor, you’re an insider. You know what the admissions team at your program actually values, because you figured it out the hard way.
You’ll work one-on-one with students over Google Meet, helping them shape their story, edit their essays, and walk into interviews with confidence. Sessions are booked around your schedule, so you decide when you’re available.
Most mentors work 5 to 10 hours a month. Some do more. There’s no minimum, just show up for the students you’re matched with.
What you’ll do.
- Guide students through their essays, AIF, and supplementary application materials
- Share your honest admissions experience: what worked, what didn't, what you wish you knew
- Help students build and communicate a compelling personal story
- Meet 1-on-1 via Google Meet on a schedule that works for you
- Optionally help with extracurricular strategy and personal projects (for longer-term packages)
What we’re looking for.
- Currently enrolled in a competitive Canadian university program
- Applied within the last 1 to 2 years (so your experience is still fresh)
- A clear communicator who can explain your process in a way a Grade 12 student understands
- Someone who genuinely wants to help, not just make side income
No minimum GPA required. We care about your story, not your transcript.
